"I am contacting you on behalf of the Association of Media and Entertainment Counsel and its 2019 Counsel of the Year Awards to be held on January 24, 2019 at the Manhattan Beach Country Club. This is a prestigious and high profile event with many general counsel and law firm partners in attendance. It is a great networking opportunity for students interested in an entertainment law career. Unfortunately, at each event some guests have to depart early leaving empty seats towards the end of the event. We want to avoid that by extending an opportunity for students to attend the event free of charge as seat-fillers. All volunteers will be able to walk the red carpet and be photographed and attend the cocktail party. However, because there is no guarantee they will have a seat at an event table, for those who are not offered a seat we will offer a box dinner and standing room attendance at the event. It is required that volunteer seat-fillers remain for the entire event. The dress is black tie optional. I am attaching some information about the event.
